Default Anyone remember the 3D log cabin made by cutting wedges?

It looks like it is done with sewing strips but it's wedges cut from strips. Someone here posted how it was done but of course can't find it. Just a hunch someone may remember it.

I remember reading about it. Someone bought the kit from Amazon and put it together a different way. That's all I remember about one 3D log cabin pattern.

Thanks Dunster but that's not it. I have the Twisted Log Cabin book. This was a very striking 3D block that looked liked you could fall right in the center. I had pictures but they were removed. They are everywhere online. Google 3D log cabin block. I can't find a pattern though. All I know is it is made with wedges.

OneByOne .... you got my attention with your description, and curiosity got this cat!
Perhaps start with this link?
If you don't find the pattern you want, post a link to the quilt closest to what you are thinking,
and I bet someone will be able to help you find it.

Is this what you are looking for? It's not wedges, but it's definitely 3D. https://www.bing.com/images/search?v...vt=0&eim=1,2,6

This is an interesting log cabin made with wedges. To me, it doesn't look that 3D. http://quiltindex.kora.matrix.msu.ed...abin_Davis.pdf

I agree with QuiltE and thought it might be the link she posted. Here's another you may be able to get patterns from

http://www.quilt-addicts.com/never-say-never.htm

I did up some pics for fun that will help, I hope.

Sew fabric in strips ( I show ten 1 1/2" strips). From this you can cut 10 1/2" squares and cut once on the diagonal, then sew the sections A1 & A2 together along the diagonal side.

You should get a block like this

Now you can turn them different ways for the effect you like best. Make sure you join the same colored sections as
half the blocks will have the color reversed. I used black sashing, but the end result would depend on the colors used.

Gay, your pics are nice but wouldn't it be a bear to have to line up all those seams?
