Unfortunately I don't know anyone who wears a tie any more. But I do LOVE that first one. It's gorgeous; well they all are but the first one is my fav.

Very cool! I'd love to try this for my hubby who is adventurous in his tie-taste. Do you use a stabilizer between layers?

It completely depends on the weight / feel of the fabric. When I do stabilize I only do the portion that will be below the knot so it doesn't "bulk up" the knot to much.
