Hi Pam,

Have you considered contacting the manufacturer of the basting spray? Maybe they would have a solution for you.

I've used two different basting sprays successfully, and one of them was on my quilt for 5 months - never had them stain my quilts. That's really weird. Best of luck to you.

Oh, Grandma's Spot Remover is also available through connectingthreads.com.

If it doesn't come out with any of the washings, tea dye it and call it "I did it on purpose". It would give it an antique-ish quality which would look pretty cool imho. :) I've used the generic "Goop" hand wash stuff , the lotion like hand wash stuff that comes in a tub, that mechanics use to wash grease from their hands.(also sold at Dollar General) and successfully removed crayon, marker, and other craft related stains from the girls school outfits.

What was the name of the basting spray you used? I use 505 without any problems.

I agree that Awesome is a great product. Also, Oxi Clean Pre-Wash is good also. I use this on my sons white singlet for wrestling when someone's bloody nose gets all over it! :-o

Soaking is always good, whatever you use, seems to soften stains before you wash it, 5 minutes or so should help.

We don't have a LQS, but I've seen this advertized on Eleanor Burns' site.
They also sell it at Hobby Lobby in the fabric department.

I used oxyclean on a quilt top that was mildewed. Worked wonderfully.

One more suggestion, since it is on white material, I mix bleach with water and spray on white fabric, let dry and the stain is gone!
