Well, that pretty much proves there is something for everyone, because I love them!

You feel about those fabrics the way I feel about batiks (yes, I know, I'm going to get slammed). I just don't like them and even when I was given some, I can't figure out how I would use them!

I'm sorry, but I don't see any ugly fabric here. It reminds me of the fabric that is in the civil war quilts.

She posted the fabric was poor quality. Why would anyone want poor quality fabric just because it's pretty? Not worth the time to mess with.

Its a shame to throw them all away. They really weren't that bad. They wouldn't be bad in a rag quilt.

I love them too. I think a scrappy irish chain would be beautiful.

To be honest, once I saw them grouped by color, I did warm up to quite a few of them. There were a few that reminded me of morning sickness but, overall, I started to really like them. Then I went to piece a few together for a block and realized the quality was beyond horrid so that’s ultimately why they went into the trash....not because of design but because of quality.

Donna, I'm with you. I'm not crazy about batiks, either. Or they're not crazy about me... My biggest complaint is that once they're ironed/pressed, they don't keep that crisp, neat look; the fabric always reverts back to being just slightly disheveled.

The old adage.. "if your fabric is ugly (to you) then it just means you haven't cut it up small enough!" I can confirm this logic as I'm currently cutting up ugly-to-me fabrics for an Irish Chain and they are beautiful, again!
