You can send all of them to me and I'll give them a good home. I do appreciate that not everybody likes this type of fabric. Reminds me of the "good ole days" of the farming community so I love them. There is so much you can do with them the ideas just roll off me. Whatever you decide to do with them it will be a beautiful quilt and it may become one you really like when all is said and done. Good luck and Happy Sewing.

For future reference, small-scale floral prints are perfect for color wash quilts, and a quilter needs So many to create a color wash quilt, the idea being that one uses a print only once or twice. I have been collecting small-scale florals for years and still don't have enough.

OMG, i want them all. i think they are beautiful. But i agree with you, if the fabric is thin, it's not worth all the work using up 4 inch squares. lots of work to make a quilt out, and then it would wear out quickly.

I have a pattern for wheelchair quilts, backed with flannel so they don't tend to slide off the lap. There is a had warmer pocket and a small pocket for change, room keys, etc. Make up a mess of those and donate them to a VA hospital or nursing home. When I make mine I do not cut the 5" squares, I just pair them up with a nice solid fabric.

They're not ugly at all - at least not for someone like myself who loves vintage 30's collections. Alternate them with white squares and you'll soon have baby quilts or lap quilts that someone would delight in receiving.

How about blocks something like this? I have a lot of white fabric I bought when just learning so it’s about the same poor quality as the squares. And the white would de-ugly some of the prints. And I could get rid of 8 squares in one block!
