2019/2020 2.5" Birthday Swap
#1062
Just addressed my envelopes and they will go in the mail tomorrow! Kind of amazing that we have 5 birthday girls and only 2 states!
(a repeat post for those following the Night Owls thread) Just spent the day moving my daughter back into her dorm on a warm and muggy day. I finished her 3 foot by 3 foot wall hanging in time! Her room has a bowed out set of windows on one side (called a princess room). She has always wanted a window seat, so when she got this room she asked my husband to make one for her. Now, the windows are about 10 feet long, so they compromised. Her 6 foot futon will fit 2/3 of it and he built a window seat for the remaining space! He built shelves inside it for which I made the quilt hanging. She wanted it to be her dorms logo - they are the wildcats. The futon isn't out of storage yet, but the window seat fits perfectly and I am happy with my quilt! I had some fun with my new rulers, I liked how it came out even though I wasn't hitting my points at all! The picture shows the back of her tee shirt with the logo I had to recreate....applique is another technique I've only done two times before so I was very happy with how it came out.

Jaba and all, I got a message this morning via a blog with a quilt that would make use of some of our 2.5 treats. Perhaps this might satisfy our yen for a new use of our little treats. The name of the quilt is Last Hurrah, https://weddingdressblue.wordpress.com/.

That looks like the checkered board quilt I recently finished. I just finished this in June. It's winter themed fabrics from the 9patch swap here on the board.

I've got plans to do a "watercolor" quilt with mine. Probably with a sort of check mark curvy line and then going outward using colors to enhance the pattern. Will be a lot of layout involved so I'll need to set up my design "wall" again.
I'll be getting my candies in the mail this weekend. It is nice having them cut and ready to stuff in envelopes.

I've already done checkerboards QB, your quilt is beautiful.
Jennr8r, I'm trying to envision that quilt in scrappy. It's not coming to me today, I'll have to think on it for awhile It looks like a labyrinth design in a way, modified a tad. Something to ponder for sure. Would love to see your watercolor quilt when you get it done Macybaby.
All birthday candies are in the mail so they should all be on time.

TrishB’s candies went out today.
But I have a big stack of square fabrics to cut to maybe add some variety to the rest. But no time to cut today. Hopefully a quiet tomorrow.
Finished another paper doll quilt, this one for a five year old who has developed Type 1 diabetes and is having difficulty getting regulated. In spite of her g’ma’s vigilance at test, feeding and monitoring her. She headed for an insulin pump if I understand correctly but they are dancing with the insurance right now. Pretty sure it’s not a waltz they are doing.
