Love, Love, Love the lozenge pattern for a baby quilt. Why haven't I thought of that before? Going to put in my file for Project Linus quilts. Did you have a pattern or just improvise?

That's great: simple and different. I too am wondering why no one has thought of this before!

Love that baby quilt. The colors & pattern are perfect & what a good idea to put the minky on the back for softness.

I saw a picture somewhere on-line and improvised from there. The lozenges were cut 8.5" x 4.5", and the squares for the snowballed corners were 2.5" square. For this quilt, which is 36" x 48", you need 54 blocks (58 if you don't want to lose the points on the whole blocks at the upper and lower edge). I just cut blocks in half to make the partial-blocks at the upper and lower edge, but that doesn't allow for seam allowances, as I found out. To get the points on the full blocks at the upper and lower edge of the quilt, you need somewhat more than half a block for those partial blocks on those edges. Quilt and learn.
