Thanks for all the suggestions. Will be researching and text driving in the near future.

I have a Janome 6600MC and really love it. I bought it used from a LQS and have had it for about 8 years and it sews so great. Someone had traded it in on a Janome a step above the 6600 and it was well taken care of. I have 2 friends that have Berninas and love them as well so I think your choice would be what features you want in a machine.

I recently bought a Juki TL2010Q and I love it. It does everything you'd want it to do except for stitch regulator. That's my job! Good luck with your search!

I have a Juki 2000QVP and am very happy with it. Comes with many accessories, including the knee lift which I don't think I ever want to be without. Also, the foot pedal has a second position that can be programmed for a few different actions - I have it programmed for reverse. Built in straight stitch lever is very handy and overall I am really happy with the stitch quality. Good luck with your search.
