Good for you! You are off to a great start.

I never could get very fancy with my machine quilting on my vintage machine, for one I needed a darning plate that I didn't have to disengage the feed dogs. I found I could do gentle curves in the "bed" of the quilt but that I could get rather fancy borders by going around multiple times. I was able to use a long arm for a couple of years, now I'm learning to quilt on my modern machine. My abilities and my standards keep getting higher
