It would be way to much traveling. I loved the one with the home theme, but was unable to get the rows.

I did the 2016 "Home Sweet Home" themed one and won a prize. It was a lot of work due to there not being a ton of quilt shops in my part of the country. I drove way too far! The license plates were expensive to collect. And now some of our local quilt shops have stopped participating. Maybe it didn't work out so well for them? I did have fun making the quilt, and now it hangs on the wall in my longarming room. I just don't feel I need two of them.

This is my 2016 Home Sweet Home quilt:

We traveled approx 5300 kms this summer so we could celebrate our Best Man's 80th.... I looked up some of the shops before we left... but I don't do the cell. phone thingy.... so at Kamloops the shop there that we visited wasn't participating and I didn't find anything that I didn't already have that I liked The one shop I loved in Medicine Hat, Crazy Quilters Lair is no longer in business... thankfully I looked that up at the Gas City Campground before venturing there... then...Sowen's in Swift Current... no longer in business..... I found a great shop in Moose Jaw, (Quilters Haven) but by then we were past the date.... oh well.... we had to pay for metered parking there.(I got a metre of cool black patterned fabric) ...sore point for the Quilt Shop....but then I wandered the Main Street and found a great sweater at a boutique ... Yay.... Happy Birthday to me!

I collected patterns/fabrics one year and have not done anything with them. A couple of years I liked Rows from a shop 600 miles away. They sent me the pattern & fabric after RbR ended for that year. Drove to a shop in the Thumb area one year. Bought current year and previous year because I liked the Row. Have decided I need to finish my UFOs before adding any additional projects.

I pieced and quilted this for my brother, a tuba player. Fun to make but not interested in making another row by row.

I've participated in several row by rows, and now I'm a little tired of trying to make them bed-sized. They're just too skinny. But if you enjoy it, do it. They do make fun kids' quilts.

Default row by row

I like to collect the license plates but haven't found any from this year. Tried participating one year but after two days someone had their quilt finished. Discouraging...Made one quilt using the plates. Still would like to get a plate from this year.

I collected local blocks from 2016 but they are still sitting in the drawer. Last year, 2018, we traveled West through a lot of states and National Parks so I collected some of the blocks to do a travel quilt. If I didn't like the block or it didn't relate to the area I was in, I passed it up. (Nevada shop had a cute block of fancy cowgirl boots "These boots are made for walking", like you'd see on stage in Las Vegas) I also bought a 4' vertical tree pattern to simulate the Redwoods in CA, and some patterns for the Arches and Canyonlands. So far all but three blocks are done but I want to incorporate a map with our route, and possibly a road with a car on it winding around the blocks, so still a work and design in progress.

I to feel like the row by row is fading out. It was fun the first 2 years but is just to short and wrong time of year for me, also i like to see in advance and plan on which ones I like and want but most shops will not show any pictures until just before it starts and have also been told by some shops there sample was in the shop so just created to much driving during a very short busy season. I always liked to see the creativity of what the shop owners came up with ans a lot were outstanding. Since then several shops near by has closed and some quit doing it so just way to much time on the road, I do like row quilts and round robins bt would rather to them locally in our guild
