    Default Cutting Mats

I recently bought a 42" square table at a hotel liquidation store to use for a cutting table. I have put it on risers, and am pleased with how sturdy it is. Now I need a cutting mat to fit it. I have an old worn out one that is 30 x 36, but cannot find that size again. On the internet I found an Alvin Cutting Mat 30 x 42 from BlickArt Materials. Has anyone used this brand or bought anything from this website?

I've bought from them a few times and had great experiences every time. I've never used that brand of cutting mat but have read good things about it.

When I was enlarging my table I was hoping to find a mat that fit it but couldn't so made the table to fit the mat...48 x 96. Ordered it online and its also an Alvin ....green with markings on one side and black with markings on the other side. Also self-healing as I find that type works best with my blades and keeps them from getting dull faster.

I've been buying Alvin cutting mats for several years. I have 3-4 mats.
    They work great.

Not familiar with that brand, but I do know that a bad mat will ruin your rotary blade and really frustrate you. I was given a mat for our quilt group and so thrilled because it was very large. It was a bad experience. We finally discarded the mat. It was a white - almost clear- color. That's all I remember about it.

I'm looking at the translucent Alvin. I've always wanted a very light or translucent one and I see that this has fewer grid markings which is fine with me, I only use my rulers for measuring as I can cut on the diagonal or any which-way and avoid "ruts" in my mats. Thanks again, EasyPeezy!
