Most of the national teachers have priced themselves with fees and expenses out of most guild's budget and the cost of their classes are over priced. Anything over $60 and I won't sign up. Has to be a unique technique learning class for me to pay the $60. Most have a kit, book, and/or pattern required to buy extra.

Kathy McNeil from Tulalip, WA presented a trunk show and afternoon workshop for our Guild and she was very very good. Her quilts are mind-boggling and her presentation was very entertaining. No idea how much she charged but she did several guilds in the area within the same week or so.

My guild has offers and all day class followed by a speaker presentation for all the guild members nearly every month. This past year our guild teachers/speakers included: Angela Walters, Maria Shell, Carrie Payne, Robin Ruth, Laura Wasilowski, Felicia Brenoe, and the sisters/owners of SewKindOfWonderful.com. I especially enjoyed the presentations by Angela Walters and Laura Wasilowski who gave excellent informative presentations that entertained our guild and kept us laughing.

I'm the President of TAQG (Texas Association of Quilt Guilds), we have 34 guilds in our midsts throughout Texas. Each year we bring in an International speaker for what we call Rally Day in July for a day of lecture in the morning, lunch, lecture in the afternoon, silent auction, the guilds bring their current raffle quilts & sell tickets to them & we have boocoo door prizes & raffles throughout the day for all the guests to partake of. Anyway, in the 20 years we've been around, we've had Pam Bono (now deceased), Deb Tucker, Pam Holland, J. Michelle Watts, Sharon Schamber, Cynthia England, Pat Speth & this coming year we are having Marti Michell coming back for our 20th Anniversary. She was our very first Rally Day speaker. Each of them do 3 or 4 workshops as well as the Rally Day of lectures. We also let them sell their wares at Rally Day also. Deb Tucker made the comment that she sold more at our Rally Day than she had at Houston the prior year, which says something about the quilters of North Texas!
