    Default y block ??

    I am looking for instructions on what I am calling a y-block. Its half of a half square triange and half of an hour glass block. I hope my description is understandable.

    I’m not exactly sure what you’re looking for. Maybe a quarter square triangle?

    I know of a quilter in another forum looking for the name of one like that. can't get a pic in here of it though. still no one has come up with the name.

    I think you are describing a "Boston block". It's also known by "quarter square triangle".

    the one i'm trying to show is a Kim Diehl block pattern. square in a square with the half hour blks on the sides.
