Default Have you made a pop-up bag?

A local shop is having a class to make a pop-up bag, which I think means there is some kind of spring form inside that you can collapse. I hesitate to pay the fee without knowing what might be involved in the supply list and pattern, and have found nothing under pop-up on here. Does anyone have any pointers for me?

They come in different sizes. It would be best to contact the teacher for a supply list

I made a little one meant to be a thread catcher. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbOflNoEYLc
is this what you mean? I was underimpressed with mine Kind of big although it folds down nicely for a carry along bag. this type just twists down

Yes, I made the smallest one. It's cute, but not so cute and I'd want to make one again. I use it as a pencil cup.

I made one in class. Love it. Use it as a thread catcher at machine. Maybe my fabric is just super cute to me?? I think they are handy and i did buy more of the spiral forms but have not made another. I have some quilting friends that would like one as gifts but who knows if i will get the desire. It may be one of those projects that you would do several in class but once home not totally sure how you did it!!!

I've made them both. Both are fun, but I prefer the twist up ones. Not so expensive.

This is the tutorial I used for the one with the metal pop up ring (this video includes lots of links to patterns and supplies needed):

Here are lots of ideas and patterns for the pop up metal ring kind:

Yes and they are fun to make. There are several free patterns online for them.
