Default Juki 2000 tension settings

I need advice on the settings for my Juki 2000qi tension settings. All I have is a mess on the back of my quilt

I have a different Juki I set the top tension on 2. See if that works for you.

did your machine stitch fine before? make sure every thing is threaded right...bobbin thread, top thread. Make sure threads are in the tension discs and needle guides...bobbin inserted right way. etc....when I get a mess on the back, most of the time...it is something amiss with how I threaded it.....except when my timing was slightly off on my new bernina...then the repair man fixed it.

I have the 2010Q. How’s your bobbin tension? Do you happen to have a TOWA gauge? Do you have fuzz under the backlash spring in the bobbin case? Have you put a thin pin under the bobbin case tension arm and blown out any fuzz with canned air? Rethread the upper machine. Are there any burs in the checkspring? (The little spring in your tension dial). Make sure your bobbin is in the right way.

These are just a few ideas. Hopefully you’re able to pinpoint the source.

I have a Juki 2010Q... and it likes to be kept really clean in the bobbin area. If any amount of lint builds up there, it messes up my tension, big time. I keep big pipecleaners around to run through the bobbin area parts. And every few bobbins, I unscrew the needleplate and clean everything really well.
