I have an Arteza 6x12 in. ruler that's yellow, white and black and I love it, but bought a 3x18 in. ruler from Fiskars just this past week that's just black and white and I'm noticing I drift towards that ruler now more than the other. I need a few more rulers to really make a solid decision on which ones I prefer but I think as long as it's easy to read, it's a good one.

I too like Creative Grids...so easy for me to see. But like Onebyone, the Quilter's Select are slowly moving in to my sewing room. At work we have used the 6 x 24 at the cutting table for a year. Often after several wof cuts off the bolt, the fabric veers off side a bit. With the QS ruler that veering has been almost eliminated. I have the 6 x 24 and 12 1/2" square at home and love them.

I concur with all of this.

I like the Creative Grid ones best. I find the ones with yellow "highlighter" are hard for me to read.

And they do not slip on the fabric. Great invention!

I don't care for rulers with the yellow lines. The color just hurts my eyes and I find them very difficult to read. I'll stick with my clear rulers w/black lines.

It seems that all the quilt shops I have been to in the last year only sells Quilter's Select and Creative Grid rulers along with the task specific rulers like Block Loc, etc.

I don't think you can beat creative grids rulers. They are so easy to read, have little pads on the back to minimize slipping and come in every shape and size .

I prefer clear rulers with thin black lines like the Fiskars brand. They are harder to find around here though. I'll be taking a look at the Quilters Select ones - they seem to be marked similarly.

Quilters Select for me as well. What I really like is the black markings are thin but visible. And of course they do not slip.
