I have the Omnigrid 8.5" x 24" and the 12.5" square. They have the black solid main lines, white 1/4" lines and yellow highlighting on all the main black lines. I quilt in my dining room, so the rulers currently sit on the window sill, with the 12.5" square one sitting upright. I noticed recently that the yellow colour is all fading from that one from sitting in the sun. Actually makes it a bit less distracting.

I had many Omni grid rulers and over time have replaced them with creative grid. The yellow is too difficult to see clearly on the Omni grid, creative grid is black and white, easy to see. Also as mentioned, great grip on the back, and like the 1/2” inch mark on 2 sides, and 1” mark on the other two sides

I hate the rulers with they yellow markings---they are very difficult to see, especially at night. I have purchased and absolutely the "Quilter's Select" rulers designed by Alex Anderson. They have a layer of a non-skid material on the back and the don't slide when cutting. Also are very easy to read and see through. One can read the numbers from top to bottom and bottom to top---so they are wonderful. I would replace all of my other rulers if I had the extra cash.

I also prefer Creative Grids rulers. So easy to see thru and they have little pads on the back to help prevent sliding.

With my vision issues I have different rulers for different fabrics, or I mark lines with tape where I want to be.

I don't ever cut smaller than a 1/4" increment, I will cut large and trim down for accuracy so rulers with 1/8" and 1/16th markings are way too busy for me. I can see where someone who makes miniatures or tiny units may have a different opinion.

Ditto! I'm slowly replacing all my "old" rulers with Creative Grids. Except for a couple of Eleanor Burns rulers.

Quilters Select are also my favorite rulers. They also have 8-1/2 x 24 that is very handy. I do like that extra 1/2".

I'm still an Omnigrid girl, both because I have too many of them to replace and because I think they're some of the most accurate rulers.

I am in love with Quilter Select. They have clear and thin lines and grip the fabric so it doesn't shift. They cost a little more but IMHO are well worth the extra cost.
