They can be used outside. I have a command hook on my outside glass door and it has hung there for years. I hang a very heavy real wreath on it every Christmas. It is one of the heavier ones tho.
No problems

This reminds me that my young grandson was so fascinated with a wind up music box toy that he found at my house. "Look, Dad. See what it does!" All he has experienced is battery-operated. Much as the older grandson has never experienced a phone attached to the wall. Even before cell phones, there were cordless ones! (I'm feeling old.)

Does the sun shine on your Command hook?

My favorite Aunt had one of these from the 60's. When my sister's and I divided her Christmas things it went to my youngest sister. She displays it proudly with very precious memories.

I like it just the way it is. I'd probably bind it at the top and add the loop to hang it. Very cute!

I purchased a similar cut out from Joann's in the early 2000's. My son saw it and fell in love. It measures about 24" in length. We lined it with patriotic snowman fabric which was available the year after 9/11. I can't find it right now. Luckily, my son is 23 and won't miss it! It holds a lot of loot, that's why he loved it so much.
