I can see another bag of 'leaders and enders' being produced with this. I have 1.5" strips in my scrap system which could be sewn together and cut into 2.5" lengths. But think of all the pieces that are just less than 2.5" that are left over when cutting from 2.5" strips or pieces left over from binding that could be 'rescued' and cut into 1.5" x 2.5".

Oh,heavens. This is another bag of patches and blocks that will sit until there are enough for a quilt top!

When I looked at the first photo I couldn't imagine what the quilt would look like. I was wowed when I saw the finished quilt. Just lovely.

Lovely variation on using those 2 1/2 squares some of us have accumulated. Slight trimming and voila, 1 1/2 x 2 1/2 strip. Gonna look up the pattern too,
The border is striking, just love it. and see it could be used with other scrappy string type quilts.

Your quilt has turned out so beautiful. Guess I have to go and find a 2009 American Patchwork magazine although I am pretty sure that I can figure it out from the picture. Very, very nice!

That is one beautiful quilt. And all the better that you made it with your scraps.
