Pot holders
A dear friend passed away There are many squares of batting left behind. My friend was devoted to charity quilting.
Would someplace like Habitat for Humanity want potholders?

I am not sure about Habitat but in my area there is an organization that I believe is called "Transitions" that helps folks move from homelessness to home renter. They help equip the kitchen, bedrooms and basic furniture. Another idea would be Red Cross. They often take on the task of helping folks who have lost their home to fire or other disaster. Make a few calls and then bless others with your talents.

Owlvamp on this forum collects many items for charity. I believe that Pot holders may be something she would use. PM her and find out if these would help her with her wonderful work. I know she collects dish cloths and wash cloths also.

The best way to find out would be to ask your local HH or other charities.
While they all work are for the same ends, the way they get there in different manners.
Thus, what may be welcomed in one area, may not be in others.
Start by asking and offering offer what you can ... that is ...
Are you willing to make the potholders? or just donating the batting?
or perhaps make something else?
Meanwhile you mentioned your friend's devotion to charity quilting ...
why not start with the group(s) that she worked with?
She already has an established connection for you ... follow it!

The local battered women's shelter here takes potholder, mits and all kinds of quilted items to help when women leave the shelter to help them start over. The charity here is Haven House. I would check for local battered women's shelters.
