This is darling and perfect for her door for March and April. Your talents for this door hanging is priceless. Your mom and athe nursing home residents and staff will love it too.

One of the most appreciated gifts I gave my Mom was a similar idea. My DH made a plaque with a space above that said "Celebrate" and a 12 1/2" sq. recessed area with Velcro on the top and bottom. In January we gave her the plaque and a 12" quilted square of a snowflake with crystals (with Velcro on the back and the name of the month). Each month thereafter I would send her a monthly replacement block. Her neighbors would see her carrying a padded envelope down the hall and exclaim "That has to be the next month.......aren't you going to open it?" Mom would always make them wait for the first of the next month LOL We now have it hanging in our office as Mom is no longer with us.
What a wonderful idea!!! I usually change them per month or holiday. She just recently moved to another floor and the people down her hall have not been hanging much on their doors. She says she can always find her room. Little by little, a few more people are hanging things on their doors so maybe we started something. She does enjoy them and tells everyone her daughter makes them for her.
