Default Guest Book Wedding Quilt Advice

With all this free time, I'm finally assembling my son's guest book wedding quilt which was signed by guests at his wedding in July 2019. The unsigned blocks are laid out on my design wall (unsigned blocks for now until I get this right). I'm ready to match the signed blocks to the unsigned blocks and sew them together.

The happy couple don't want any separation between the blocks and they want me to turn the finished quilt into a wall hanging. They chose the darker colors (brown, purple, blue) from Summer on the Pond by Holly Taylor for MODA which is why the quilt top looks dark.

Do any of you have any ideas or suggestions about sashing, inner boarders, outer boarders and binding. Any and all suggestions would be amazing!

Thanks so much!

I have no suggestions other than I like the way you already have it laid out. Adding sashing and borders could make it too large for a wall hanging.

I might go with a double border - lighter color on the inside darker on the outside. Just remember the border color becomes the quilt color so pick something that matches their decor.

I agree with Rff1010, a light inner border like a mat on a picture and and outer dark border like a frame, would make a nice wall hanging.

I agree with Barb but maybe thin sashings and no border.

think about if they want it to be hung vertically (long way) or horizontally .that makes a difference with the signatures. borders size could depend on that. Good luck.

I'd do a thin border, no sashing. Like the look in your pic.
