    Default Walking Foot

I recently watched a video on paper piecing and I noticed that the woman was using a walking foot. She did sew on the newsprint. I have never thought to use my walking foot while paper piecing. I am interested in getting feedback from those who have. Thank you.

I do not use my walking foot when PP. I have to use an open toe foot when PPing due to the visibility of the lines to stitch on. The standard walking foot for my machine would not allow me to see the lines to follow for PPing.

I don't use my walking foot when PP. If you want to try it, try it for yourself and let us know how it goes.

I don't see a need for a walking foot when paper piecing. If I want to hold a piece in place I use a dab of glue or glue stick. You are only sewing through 3 layers that are thin. I prefer my open toe foot when I am PP.

I use my walking foot for many things but never for PP. I use my open toed foot when I am sewing on paper and fabric so I can see the lines.

I use my walking foot for everything! I have a Pfaff with the built-in foot. Almost all of my piecing (because of my advancing age) is with using freezer paper!

Please - could you explain what you mean by freezer paper?

when ironed to the fabric, it sticks. but when you want to remove it, it easily peels off
