Default Machine for quilting

Is there a mechanical sewing machine with 9 or more, preferably more, inches of arm working space either new or an older model?

Something like this?

There are also sit down mid arms of even larger throat sizes.

I don’t own one, but I’ve sewn on a Baby Lock Accomplish (aka Jane) and she’s fabulous. She’s mechanical and straight stitch only, but stitches 1500 spm, and I love her.

I have the Juki 2200 QVP Mini. Basically the same machine as the 2010. I've done quilts as big as 70 x 90 with no problem.

Another vote for the Brother PQ1500. Mechanical, not computerized. Straight stitch @1500 pm, needle threader, auto cutter, 9" harp. I *love* this machine. You can find them used for about half of MSRP on CL, and sometimes even lower. Put the word out to your friends and LQS that you're in the market, oftentimes when people who have been thinking of upgrading will seize the moment.

I love my Brother's SE1500. I have had it more than 15 years and it is a great machine.
