Default singer touch and sew model 648 bobbin

I have a perfect Singer Touch and Sew model 648, circa 1970, that has been a fine sewing machine my whole adult life. Just recently, the little oval white button with the red concentric circles (dot) that you press to the left to engage the bobbin threader has frozen and it won't move. Thus, I can't thread the bobbin. I've called a sewing machine repair near me, they couldn't help; I've looked on-line with no luck, and I'm hoping someone out there will know what to do...Thanks.

Do you have another machine that you could use for threading the singer bobbin. I have used a brother to wind my singer bobbin and it works just fine. Good luck.

possibly a drop of sewing machine oil (maybe); I never had any problems with my T+S back then, so good luck!

Purchase a Sidewinder bobbin threader. They are not that expensive and work like a charm. great

YouTube has been my go to place for info lately. It always seems someone has had the same problem I have and have been wonderful and made a video of how they corrected or fixed it. I even have hubby looking there for info.
