Default Steam a Seam 2

I need any input or tips on how to work with Steam a Seam. I hear it gums up quilting needles and wonder how to prevent that problem. I may have my collage wallhanging professionally quilted though I have a HQ Simply Sixteen longarm
and could quilt it. Thanks

When I used it I just had to stop every once and a while and take the little gum ball off the needle. Not because it was messing up the stitching, just because I didn't want a gum ball somewhere on the quilt. It was like rubber cement, soft and pliable.

I haven't had any trouble with gumminess, but you do sometimes get a tiny bit on the shaft of your needle. I just use a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol to wipe it off with.

There's a new Schmetz needle called the "Super Non-Stick" needle. It really helps with sticky fusible webs.

Here's a link: https://www.schmetzneedles.com/schme...stick-needles/

Soft Fuse is my favorite fusible web, because it isn't sticky, it's dry.
