I press to the dark side. Once in a while, I run into a bulky situation, but that's rare

I use a 1.5 stitch length and press open most of the time.

I always press to the darker side. I also 'spin' centers to get them nice and flat.

I was always taught to press to the dark side but then began trying new things to see how they worked for me. Now in 99 percent of my quilts I press open. I don’t send to a long armer - I do my own quilting on a Brother PQ 1500 in a table and I have had no difficulties with quilting. I like the result of open seams better. With shorter stitch length I can still stitch in the ditch but that is my least favorite way to quilt.

I am part of the "to the dark side" crowd. I have a quilt of 30 blocks that is made of all half-square triangles and did all the pressing to the side. Did lots of spinning but passed on using the hammer!

If they’re small, I press open so they’re flatter. For average size ones, I press to one side. I like to nest the ends when I’m sewing them together.

The same here. "Rules" are meant to be broken, haha. Sometimes I let the block pattern decide which way to press; some will "tell" you which direction to press regardless of to the dark fabric or not.

I usually press to the darker side unless it will appear too lumpy at the intersection and then I press open.

I got in the habit of pressing my seams open when I started making minis. Now I just press all my seams open, I just find the seams less bulky when they come together .......... just my 2 cents.

Nesting is a fun option, I did that with one of my recent quilts and liked the results, but I was taught to press the seams open so it's second nature that all seams are pressed open. It's been a different experience altogether though with the Double Wedding Ring, unless I can discover a workaround, seams have to be pressed to one side or the other.
