    ooh, now I want to try those 3d geese. thanks for the link. my favorite to make is anything wonky or improv, because it hides any mistakes!

    I love making Log Cabin blocks. The four-at-a-time Flying Geese are a close second.

    Oh, forgot to say I sew the sides down to make curved edges. The sides are on the bias so they curve and behave quite nicely...lol

    My favorite quilt pattern is the kaleidoscope quilt pattern that I designed from a picture on a magazine cover. Every finished block is a surprise! Before that, I just cut squares and resewed them together. I know, crazy! Never tried to follow another's pattern, but I haven't been quilting that long.
    Today, I started a modified kaleidoscope quilt using my new drunkard's path template. I'm gonna try to sew the 4 pieces required for DP into them same circle as my 8 piece kaleidoscope blocks--using stripes! Here's my rough sketch pattern and a "rusty" example..
    BTW..could ya'll please post pictures so I don't have to keep Googling what you're talking about. I'm inexperienced.

    My favorite is the 'stack and whack'...better known as a kaleidoscope....so much can be done with them....

    I love making almost any type of star. Sawtooth Stars are a particular favorite. I use Deb Tucker tools for all of my sub-units (TIS, FG, HST, SIS) and that gives me a really good finish.

    Favorites are the good old HST (half square triangle) and a close second is the economy block. Can't seem to make and create with enough of them.

    First would have to be Log Cabins (regular or "wonky"), then Pineapple, and then Crazy Quilt.
