I understand exactly where you are coming from. I am almost finished hand quilting a top that I started 14 years ago. I never want to do that again. In that 14 years I have learned a lot, especially about color, so now all I see in this quilt is what I should have done differently, which makes it even harder to finish. Your quilting is wonderful, any idea how many hours the quilting took?

That is beautiful. It was well worth the wait. I'm glad you finished it. Great job.

You took such good care of this quilt, even had enough fabric to finish it. And your handquilting! Wonderful

My Mother was cross stitching 18" rose sqaures before she passed . I finished the cross stitch now I have to layer it and hand quilt it. That will be a heirloom for my granddaughter. As for how many hours it took me to make the painted quilt,I would have to guess at about I would say about a month if I worked on it 8 hours a days every day for 30 days. That would include cutting the fabric and piecing and layering , basting and hand quilting and putting the binding on. I want to thank everyone for your so kind comments and praises. I do love this quilt and I have two more tops of the smae pattern but in blue. The only thing I am going to change is the patterns for hand quilting. God only know when I will get to that. I am also glad that I am not alone when it comes to taking 15 yrs to finish a project. And yes it was worth the wait. I have about 10 tops ready to be layered and quilting . Does anyone else in this situation. I love making tops.

Such beautiful colors and I love the design.....
I'm so glad it is a UFO no longer, it must be very satisfying to have finished it!

Congrats. I've got a quilt that's been a UFO for about 15 years, too. It must feel great to cross it off the list.
