Bobbin winder? It works well, but it will only work smoothly with original Elna bobbins. They have a grove inside the hub (when comparing a bobbin to a wheel), and clicks on correctly. There is a bobbin tire you access from behind the hand wheel if I remember correctly, it might need a check or replacing, but it's generally a very stable and no fuzz function.

It was a bit of work to replace the motor pulley, but the rest was more a case of repeated oiling and cleaning. With a bit of info from the web it was well within a DIY job. I found a lot of lint under the bobbin case, there's two screws keeping it in place. The top of the free arm comes off, and it might need a bit of cleaning and wiping up under there. It took me a while to discover the worm gear behind the Elnagraph (cam mechanism), it was very dirty on mine, but it cleared up with repleated oilings, cotton swabbing, thooth picks and turning the hand wheel.

Thanks Cari. I am on both groups. Had one sanded at Ray's class and the other one is fine. I wanted to have the aluminum as a spare for the future. For now, I keep both machines with the handwheels off to release the pressure, thereby eliminating future flattening.

Now that Yahoo Groups is shutting down, is this group moving someplace else, like facebook?

Not certain, but some groups moved earlier to groups.io (or could be io.groups).

There is someone who is making 3D printed drive wheels for these. That's all I know now.
