Here we are a year later and I have a new favorite Christmas song to share. I have a live version of this on a compilation album and have played it all year without the hubby ever noticing that it's a Christmas song. I think we are all looking for better days next year despite any different beliefs we may share.

Turns out that the Goo have issues a Christmas album this year, including a redo of this song. I'm going to put it in my Amazon cart, but don't know when it will arrive.

Love this post! Way to go, Iceblossom with the awesome musical interests! I'm super lucky in that my husband and I share a *very eclectic* interest in music. Very few things I put on that he hates, and vice-versa. It's funny, we both have a hatred of certain 80's bands that our exes listened too, and now we just can't handle them on the radio, so we always turn those off.
This time of year reminds me of the 'Madrigal Dinners' we put on in college - what? Think Renaissance Faire at Christmas. A concert with dinner served to the audience including choral and instrumental music, costumes, a little bit of theater, and a jester. I sang in a choir back then, and played recorders in an 'Early Music' group - talk about weird musical interests. If I can find them, I try to find choral versions of those songs this time of year, "Boar's Head Carol" and such! They were a lot of fun to perform.

I love Christmas music and how it makes me feel, all warm, fuzzy and blessed. I am a singleton now, so I listen to Christmas music any time I want. Yeah! When I was teaching full time and my office was a hub of stress and detailed work with deadlines, I would close my door and go to Pandora and listen to Christmas music. My favorites as 1940s and 1950's versions of tunes, Bing, Dean, Andy, Andrew Sisters and Sinatra and the like. I often listen to the Chieftains and other traditional Celtic and old medieval holiday music. Other favorites are choral music often in Latin with a strong religious flavor. I can go on and on. Just love my Christmas music.

One of my favorites is George Winston's December. He's a wonderful pianist. There isn't much in Christmas music I don't like. I even like the Beach Boys "Little Saint Nick". haha Drives my husband bonkers. He hates the Beach Boys !!!
