leheath8: I’m glad you’re blocks are measuring closer to the correct size. I know how frustrating it can be. If you have the larger Accuquilt die for a particular unit, you could use it and cut it down especially on the Flying Geese.
I don't think I have the next size up die for this unit, but that's a great idea! I will definitely keep that suggestion in mind if there is another unit that I find tricky!

leheath8.... your unit turned out great. The last units always look better then the first units...lol... By the time the last unit is made, we got some practice under our belt. Great job!

Clue 4 is finished but still needs to be trimmed.

Step 4 . Most actually came out quite nicely without any trimming. A couple are off a tad, but I'm thinking quite doable in the end.

Lovely units, ladies!

I finished pressing my new neutrals and sewed my clue 3 HSTs. I thought I had sewn clue 2 and just had to press, but found that what I needed to press were the half units. So I pressed those and started sewing the halves together. I have the clue 3 HSTs laid out with their right side orange triangles (quite excited about those combos). Looking forward to deciding on grays and neutrals for clue 4. I'm still hopeful I can get caught up by Saturday.

I think Bonnie hinted at an easy clue for Saturday, so maybe it will be the optional string piecing gray clue.

I am working on week #4. I am actually amazed I've managed to keep up so far because life is so busy in December. I will probably fall behind now though since my mom is coming tomorrow to stay and she leaves when she feels like it. LOL

Thank you so much Teen! I haven't seen her for a year because of the Coronavirus so I am super excited to see her. Oh, I'm a Momma's girl, I would love for her to stay too but I think she gets sick of me. Ha!

My glass-half-full Week 4 is now complete. My "grey" (grey skies make me blue) and "red" (red sun sets in the sea) are not as high contrast as, well, grey and red. I tried to match each set for at least some contrast, but wasn't always successful. It will be interesting to see how the low contrast ones look when we put them together. Also, I am only using 3 fabrics for the neutral, so I decided to keep them matchy matchy in each unit.

The bonus to this project is that I have been using a long stored UFO for leaders/enders. I have gotten a lot done and now have only 6 blocks to put together (with Y seams, so not good for L/E) before I can start putting the top together. This UFO is one where I modified the block size from the pattern featured on the cover of Quiltmaker magazine, April/May 1996(!). And yes, it has sat for at least 20 years.
