I have one that's 14 x 24. It works great! I can put more than one block on it at a time.

When the mats first came out, I bought one at Paducah and then I got more for Christmas gifts that year. I have several of all sizes and use them all at one time or another.

I would be sure to get a decent size, not too small. Mine is about 12 * 18", which work for me.

I just used my new wool mat yesterday. It's square, I'm guessing 14". Superb! It's to the left of my domestic machine, and great for pressing seams on the blocks I was piecing together. I will add one for ironing board next time I see a good price. I took a chance on this mat when it was about $20.

I bought a small one first and used it for piecing. Works great. Then I splurged and got the 17" x17" because I am making several large t-shirt quilts for grandkids. Again, works great.

Get the bigger one and cut it to fit your ironing station by your machine. These are great!

I don't know about wool pressing mats, but I agree about pets. Two Yorkies and a cat who adopted me several years ago. Happy New Year to you and yours!

I bought a 100% wool saddle pad liner that is 30" by 30" from a horse supply shop. I will admit it is too big vertically but I use most of the width lining up multiple blocks. I read it was the same thing as a pressing mat and it works well. It was about $32 including shipping and tax.

12X17 and 8X13 one for my big ironing board and one for my child's ironing board which I put next to where I am sewing

Thanks for the advice. I ordered the one that it 17 X 17 and will trim it if necessary. I can’t wait to get it.
