I hope you're alright! I was cutting a birthday cake and the cutter slipped and boy did I slice myself open. Probably should have had stitches, but it was grandpa's birthday and didn't want to be in a hospital. Please make sure that you put an antibiotic cream on it and keep it wrapped especially when you go out to the stores. Dont' need to pick a staf infection!!

Do whatever you can to avoid this! I spent 2 months last summer helping DH deal with the staph infection he got in the surgical incision on the back of his leg! :shock: They are not fun!!!! Take care of it as best you can and get to the doctor at the first sign of infection! If it starts smelling funny, run, don't walk to the doctor! :|

Thanks for the sympathy and advice. I put neosporin on it and wrapped it good. (makes it hard to type).

I haven't heard about a ruler guard - what is it? :?

Go to your local hardware store and by a length of wall corner protector, cut it to length for all your rulers and glue down. Lots cheaper than the fabric store.

Fons & Porter also sell a glove, similar to the ones for gripping a quilt while FMQing, that is supposed to resist the rotary cutter. Have one, haven't tried it yet. Think I will ... don't want the jinx to get me!!

You too! I was just saying to hubby early last week that I have been called for jury duty in a long time. Guess what came in the mail? Yep. I must remember never to talk about the civic duty. Also never talk about money around the car, it will want a car part and a pricey one too$$$.
