BonnieJP, your wheelbarrow with plants and flowers is beautiful!
Both you and SusieQOH have gorgeous flowers.
My flowers are feeling like I am - tired of summer, lol! We've had a lot of rain this summer, to the point that some potted and hanging plants have literally drowned in their containers. I've only one left, and it really should be composted at this point as I don't think it's coming back. In addition to the rain, we're on the end of a really hot and humid couple of weeks. I have not been out to remove dead blossoms or anything else, so it's all a bit bedragled.

My hostas are in full bloom right now. And my veggie garden is producing a ton of cucumbers and tomatoes. It will only be a day or so before the green beans will be really ready. These I am looking forward to.

Our veggie garden was a total disaster this year but our flowers did great. We had more rain than usual and it helped a lot. We usually have very dry summers but this one was just right. Too hot though!

Around here it is nice during the day 3 seasons of the year. A lot of the times it gets below or near freezing. I tried flowers, hostas climbing vines most suffer from frostbite. Inside my houseplants love it, we have a 400w grow light hanging in the living room. In my bedroom we have two florescent lights, one is a white and one if yellow so they get the full spectrum for my plants.

Our vegetables have been very productive this summer - we have as many beans in the freezer as there was room for. Zucchini and cucumbers have been given to the neighbors and DH takes them to work. We've never had good luck with tomatoes, so have given up on them. We are lucky that we have many Mennonite produce stands within a couple of miles of our home, so can easily buy them as needed. I did get a couple of baskets of them as I like to roast and freeze them for soup, chili or casseroles through the winter.
Does anyone grow dipladenia? A friend told me about it a couple of years ago; there is only one local greenhouse that has them, and they sell out each year. I do water them the first couple of weeks after planting, but after that they are on their own. They bloom all summer and until frost kills them. They are the only thing in the flower bed that has survived through the heavy rains we have had this year.
