Default Hello from France

Hello everybody,
I just discovered this forum and joined! I still consider myself a beginner quilter with lots of things to learn. My latest experimenting was with free-motion quilting..... I still hold my breath while doing it LOL. I invested in a super glider and gloves and that helped a lot. I use a Bernina 350 QE and stick with pretty small quilts, more like wall hanging than bed size. Let's see, what else? oh yes, I LOVE equilter.com but in the past year, the French have put strict customs fees on imports so sadly, it has become too costly to keep ordering from them..... on the positive side, I have a few years worth of fabrics. Thank you for this forum.

Welcome from Texas! Sounds like you are off to a good start in your quilting hobby. It's always good to have "a few years worth of fabric". Have you checked out Leah Day's website for free motions quilting ideas? She came up with one every day of the year a few years ago & made videos of them which I thought was very interesting. Here's a link to her videos. She has lots of other things on her site that you might like. I look forward to seeing what you are making.

Thank you for your quick reply. I checked the free motions ideas, WOW, what a collection, awsome. I found the names of what I did on my first try: Stippling, Spiral chain and a bunch of hearts. This will give me more ideas to try, thanks a lot.

Welcome aboard! My favorite first stop has been eQuilter, but with postage and now tarifs and such I can see how it would be a yard price to swallow. I have a large modern Bernina that's a bit cranky and my chosen size is queen bed -- wish I could work smaller but I don't seem to be able to.

Glad to have you here, is a wonderful thing the internet when you otherwise have to deal with time or other barriers.
