Thank you for posting photos of your lovely, "ugly" quilts. I enjoyed watching the video of the process. I like your idea of using fabrics with a theme, such as your fish and seashell quilts. I would like to try this pattern with my collection of Christmas fabrics.

I think I may have seen that video, too. Perhaps by Karen Brown of Just Get it Done? The topic was all about weeding out old stash, especially those "what was I thinking?" fabrics that now just take up space in our drawers and cabinets. She had a very quick stack and cut method.

Fun, fun, fun. What a good way to to use those pieces that just don't fit in to other quilting projects. May have to investigate. I have a bunch of pieces that look like fruit, apples, berries, etc that need to go away purposefully from my stash. This just might work.

Those are cool quilt tops and they look like the technique was fun to do. Think I'm going to have to add this one to my list of things to do with some of my stash.....

Great idea! But I think I would have to put a plain sashing between the blocks just to give my eyes a rest! I'm sure I even have to directions (or template for the cuts??) someplace in my pattern binder.

This is a 'stack and slash' quilt. I made one years ago. You make me wanting to do another, thanks.
Very nice.

nonnie60--I recall that term and I used Christmas fabrics to cut a star quilt. I really like it and have it in my holiday tote to display each year.
I also recall seeing a heart shape about the same time.
