Sorry just wanted to add: we didn't use what was suggested on the pattern for the pillow handles. We made our from matching fabric.

The sewing fever seems to skip a generation. Glad your GD is enjoying it. She's a doll and her work looks very good. She's on her way to becoming a great quilter!

Reading is her 'second favorite thing' to do. We are using a bunch of fat quarters given to her by her aunt. We chose the Lucky Star pattern. I made the center stars and did the cutting but she gets to choose and sew the colors on the borders of each block. She gets to iron too. We have 16 different blocks done and have 4 more to make. I promised her a trip to the quilt shop to pick out the backing fabric of her choice when we get the blocks sewn together. She is very proud of her work.
I love that you're teaching your granddaughter. I cut out 6" squares of fabrics they chose and then taught my 2 granddaughters how to make a simple one patch. They loved it and were very attentive to the small points
that I would make which will help them as they sew other more difficult things. We all had fun. They were very proud of their quilts.

She's a cutie and that block is also, I am so happy that you shared her interest. Good luck with it and continue to enjoy each other

Happy piecing

What a precious, proud granddaughter! She is going to be so very proud of that quilt when it's finished & she will always remember the fun you two had together making it. Can't wait to see it finished!
