    Default Applique turn-under tool

I've been watching Connie Sue of Apple Blossom Quilts on Youtube, learning how to do back-basted applique. I noticed she uses an orangewood cuticle stick to turn under her applique edges. I've always used either a toothpick or just my fingers. I got an orangewood stick yesterday, tried it, and am delighted with the results. This is sooo easy! The beveled end works beautifully for catching and turning under the edges. I did have some difficulty finding the sticks, but located a package of them at Walmart.

I've seen examples of using cuticle sticks for hand sewn applique. I'm glad to hear it has worked well for you - I might have to try it myself. I've seen others mention the apliquick tools with great satisfaction. So many wonderful ways to get the job done! I'd love to see some of your work.
