I saw your list, happylab, on the Virtual Quilting Weekend site. You have great plans! I'll be there right next to you sewing away on UFO's and unfinished projects.

Quilters, if you have not participated in the VQW previously, it is good motivation to once a month take a chunk of time and focus on a project. It can be making progress on a project, cleaning, organizing, planning a new quilt top but often it is dedicating time and energy to what is lurking about in your sewing space. Folks post photos and successes or simply note progress. I find just creating my list narrows my focus so I can see my progress. Join us.

This quilt seems like was a work in progress ( and no progress) for ages. This one is the paper pieced one that made me decide to Never use paper again- I bet it took me at least 3 months to remove all the paper- now I always use a foundation that can stay in for all paper piecing. Anyway- this one is hung at my work place and everyone loves it. But… it’s right outside the door where I spend 11 hours a day- every time I walk out the door I see things I ( should have) done differently- mostly color placement-
definition was definitely a learning process - pretty sure I won’t make another one- but I do like how it turned out and am glad it’s done and displayed

Oh wow Ckcowl. That is stunning! I bet it did take a long time. I did a large lap that was all paper pieced. Not fun

ckcowl..don't be so hard on yourself..it's a lovely quilt! Take the lessons you've learned and apply it to the next quilt! Oh you've been sewing long enough to already know this.

My mouth is hanging open. Paper pieced or other foundation is is a beautiful work of quilting art. Be proud of your accomplishment.

My Aunt from Arizona is visiting and came to my work place to have lunch with me yesterday- she saw the quilt on the wall & Had to Have it! So I grabbed the step ladder, climbed up & took it down—- now I have to find a new quilt to hang up there. 😉

What a great compliment and how giving of you to let it go. I have started to do that with some of my little quilts as well.

Ckcowl, what outstanding beautiful quilt. I’m sure your Aunt will Enjoy displaying your quilt. Congratulations on a ufo completed too.

well I’m sitting here at my dining room table watching the fenches, sparrows, black birds and one blue bird saying hi as they eat their bird seeds. So relaxing to watch. Oh well, I guess I should go and pin my rows together on my lock-in 2020 top. I hear it calling my name. Plus, my bauble tops is crying for the 3 borders to be sewn on. So I can quilt them later this month. Have a great week everyone.
