Default Brother 1500S will be my next machine

I plan on getting this machine in November for my birthday. I usually get a nice bonus around then from my trust fund.
So my husband says...."I usually get a new gun on your birthday. And it's always one you can't live without."
This was after I said the machine was $800.00.

Good investment. It does straight stitch and free motion better than any other I’ve tried.

My apologies, but I have no idea what this means. Can you interpret?

It is a running joke between us. A long time ago we belonged to a guild in an online video game. We mention that my husband was getting a new larger monitor with a bonus we got. And I was to get his almost new one. The guild leaders wife got all pissy and said its her bonus she should get the monitor.

When we get a bonus or unexpected money we put some in savings and then buy something we want. Usually its clothes for me and firearms for him or me.

They are fantastic. I used the 1500's extensively when I worked at my local quilt shop, to make store samples and teaching classes. They're workhorses and need little maintenance.

I personally have the 1300 (got this one instead because I was able to get it for the wholesale price) and it's great too. 20 years later and it's still going strong.

I love mine so much, I bought a second one for friends and my mom to use when they visit, and also as a backup in case I ever need it. (Not likely, I've had my first 1500 for over 10 years and have only taken it in for a cleaning once. Tech said it was the cleanest machine he's ever seen, so I don't feel the need to take it in every year.)

FYI. I bought both of mine used. The first one was like new, I think the previous owner tried to quilt with it on a New Joy frame, quickly gave up and bought a Gammill. I paid $400 for it. The second Brother 1500 I bought on FB Marketplace for $150.

There's a very helpful FB group called "Brother PQ1500S Pq1500L and Baby Lock Jane Sewing Machines" that you may want to join. Everyone there is very helpful, plus there's all kinds of great info in the files section, including the Owner's Manual AND the Service Manual.
