Anyone do hand embroidery?

My mother taught me how to hand embroider when I was five and awaiting the birth of my only sibling. I made bibs for him. Wish I had one of them but alas they were not saved. I embroidered birth samplers for each of my children, trimmed my husband's hippie shirts back in the day and decorated my daughters' clothing. Love the process and like riding a bike, once you learned, you just get back on and stitch on no matter how long it has been. Time to relocate the passion for this needle craft.

A good place to find ideas to make your ufo blocks into something is at the bernina.com site. Also, look at the machine embroidery sites. Remember, not just for machine embroidery. A hand sewn block can be used that way too.
Besides quilts and throws, there are purses, pillows, zip up project bags, make-up or manicure bags, toys, sewing project holders, wall hangings, pockets on an apron, kitchen and bathroom hand towels, doilies and the list goes on. Just try thinking outside of the norm for a minute and see what you could make that you would enjoy using or seeing in your home.
