What a fabulous finish! I love everything about your quilt and such a fun pattern for your grandson to treasure and enjoy. Looks like a memorable trip to see your family.

I've always admired those patterns, and you did some amazing work with them. Thanks for sharing your journey.

You are such a loving grandmother to have put all the work into the quilts that you have. What special memories the kids will have of their quilts! I've always loved Elizabeth Hartman's pattern but have never had the nerve to make one...maybe someday.

Thanks for all the kind comments. The 2 yr. old, Ozzie, doesn't pronounce some words clear enough for Nana and Grandpa (Boppa) to understand, but when he pulled the quilt up to his chin he noticed the backing and said, "Bubbles", clear as day.
He would repeat that over and over, every time he looked at the back. If he only knew how difficult it was for me to find a gray backing "with bubbles". When I finally found the fabric and ordered, they called to say they didn't have enough, and asked if I still wanted it. I explained who and why I wanted it and the sweet kind lady from Lancaster Fabrics said "I think I can reorder a whole bolt and fill your order. Let me try." Lo and behold she called awhile later and said she would send exactly what I had ordered once the bolt arrived. Great customer service ever!
