I has been quite a while since it was serviced but to my knowledge, the gear has not broken.

Thank you for clarifying when the Stylist 413 was produced. My parents gave me one on Christmas, 1972……purchased from Sears. After not having used mine for about 25 years, I took it to a very seasoned sewing machine repair guy to service it. I picked it up yesterday and got reacquainted with my old friend…….she runs great again! No repairs were required. Oh the very sweet memories of being with my parents buying my machine. They likely stretched the budget to get me one I even took the lessons.

As I enjoy my computerized machines, my thoughts always takes me back to my early years of sewing.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the sewing machine you have fond memories of. Glad it is working well, again. It really warms my heart to read about things like this.
