Travelinggramma, love your quilts. I located and saved the pattern for the breezy batiks. I have a box of batiks that keep multiplying whenever I turn my back. They are now over flowing all over my sewing room. Time to get them under control and the lid back on the bin. Tee-Hee-Hee. Are you keeping track of the number of 2.5's you have used in your two quilts?

Just in case you missed this one on another thread this morning, here is simple and sharp use of 2.5's from one of our Quilting Board members. Not Finished but Already Claimed

I don’t count. I used all the I spy and most of batiks so I felt good to see those piles down(until my bday!)

One thing to keep in mind with shipping, it's not just the weight but the thickness. If it's over 1/4" thick, the PO may consider it a package instead of a letter and then different rates apply. My very first envelope I took the PO and they wanted to charge me over $2 for it. I took it home, put it in a slightly bigger envelope so it was thinner, and then it cost 70 cents to mail.

Yes, if it's too "fat" to go through a 1/4" slot, it will be too fat to go through their automatic sorting machines. It has to be hand cancelled, which ends up costing more $$.

I've found that if I make all my candy packages at the start of the swap, and put the cards into envelopes then, the fabric will compress together to make it even flatter by the time I'm set to mail it. I buy cards big enough to have 6 stacks of 8 candies in them, without the stacks overlapping. Then I add the last two (to make 50) on top. I don't fool with plastic wrap. That's the flattest way I know to send them.

HI to those who are new to the swap. I have joined a few rounds of birthday swaps in the past few years and was considering skipping this year because I did not quilt or sew much this past year. But I like receiving the candies and love preparing them to send out to the Birthday person. Can't resist. I got some new fabric and fussy cut took me a little while, but February Candy is finally in the mail today.
