After finishing a project, while cleaning, putting away candies in the bag; decided to make the candy packages. Took 2 days but they’re made…except greetings. Nice to know had enough to not repeat any candies.

A habit of mine: at end of bindings (which are cut 2.5”) the leftover goes into a drawer. Perfect size to make candies.

TG -- You are in a good place loaded with doctors who are all learning in that high energy doctor research zone all around. You caught it early and relatives are nearby to keep you entertained. I am so thankful you have so many silver-linings and I am very sorry this is happening to you all. God takes us on some strange journeys. Your strength and acceptance is humbling for me to see and demonstrate the resilience you have shared with all your family all your life, I suspect. Hugs and prayers for your continued strength and a steady recovery for your DH..

img_20230305_150340.jpgOMG! I'm so exited. My Aunt who taught me hand quilting, crafts, and jewelry making past away 12 years ago. Her daughter asked if I wanted these sunbonnet sues, and you know I said yes. I received them Friday and just sobbed. Now I need to honor her and get these into a quilt. I know I will HQ it, cause I have all her hg'ng motifs.
What you ladies think, should I put window panes between them?
y'all are good at suggestions

@Gannyrosie Those are such beautiful and precious blocks! I think they definitely need a lighter shade of sashing between them.

My mom had a lot of these blocks that she wants to put together “for each of you girls” (me and my two sisters); I hope I can help her get that project done one of these days, as she keeps pretty busy for a retired woman! She calls them “Little Dutch Girl” blocks.

What an honor Gannyrosie and Quossum to be asked to put your needle to family treasures. I made a wedding quilt for my nephew using blocks that his mother had made (my SIL). It is the most dear quilting project that I ever attempted. You will always cherish the time and effort you put toward turning these little family heirlooms into a finished quilt..

Yes, Gannyrosie, I agree with your thought about framing the Sun Bonnet Blocks. It will certainly make the quilt bigger but it will show off each one individually. Quilt on my friends..

Those "Sues" are so nicely done! Windowpanes would be cute. Or stars... where you just put 4 flying geese around them to make the points. Or just alternate solid blocks out of similar fabrics... The possibilities are endless!
