Bonnie Hunter’s Frolic quilt
#11
Well I got all the big blocks together then noticed that 3 of them had the blue part of the pinwheel in the top right and all the rest had the red in that position. Oh my. Trying to decide if I want to take those 3 completely apart and remake them to match or leave as is. Also, I was short one of the reds in the pinwheel extension to make one of the HST and used an alternative in one spot. Think I will leave that one alone. Can’t find any more of that fabric even to make a small HST. But I haven’t looked
in my two big bins of scraps. Maybe…. LOL. I already made this quilt during the mystery but had these blocks cut out for second one. I think I am nuts!

AlvaStitcher, I went and looked at the finished Frolics in my Frolic folder; most have the blue on the right, but some have the red on the right. If it doesn't make any difference to the block, I don't see that it matters, or matters if they're consistent (unless you're bothered by it). I think it's fine to extend a pinwheel with an alternate fabric.
I decided last night that I will remake 8 of the blocks using brighter pinks. I gathered all of the fabric I will need, but I told myself the only way for me to get to Frolic is to finish putting together the sampler I have on my wall. I'm so glad you posted about Frolic, because after reviewing all of the block components, I'm really eager to get to it. It should help me with the less interesting job of putting the sampler together.

My Frolic isn't done, but it is close. It's in our winter home, so won't be finished until next winter.
I'm going to be setting the blocks straight, rather than on point. The on point setting does make me dizzy! It reminds me of the psychedelic patterns and lights that were popular in the 70's.

I really would like to salvage it but just not today.
