Default Something I have not come across before

Okay, I am hoping that someone here can help me figure this out. I don't have pictures yet because I have not been able to unload the machine yet..... But it is a Standard table, it is a treadle, it is a cabinet that has a sliding panel in the front? But I cannot raise the lid of the cabinet, it is somehow locked down with a chain of some kind? Any ideas on what I might be dealing with or how to undo the lockdown? I cannot figure out how it is hooked up I didn't see anything on the lid except what looks like a tiny screw that doesn't really turn.... Any ideas or help would be immensely appreciated!! I have never seen a sewing machine top that would lockdown like this..... I am still cleaning out properties and I can see one more treadle cabinet that I can't get to yet (idk if there's a machine in it, lol) and I have also found a coffin top/ bonnet top so I am still hopeful to find the table that goes to ☺️.

I don't know anything about treadles. However, oftentimes the older machines were locked with a key. Look for a round keyhole in the center front cabinet, not the lid.

I can't figure out what you're talking about from your questions. A description or especially a picture would be VERY helpful.

Do you literally mean a Standard Co treadle? If so, look at the back of the cabinet. I have 2 types of cabinets and we might be able to help you.

Default Finally got it unloaded

Whew, finally got it off the trailer and into a storage room for the moment anyway. Apparently what looked like a chain while it was in the trailer was some kind of old cable? I grabbed a few pictures really quick hopefully someone can tell me something about the cabinet and machine. Apparently she wasn't packed up really well and was cockeyed inside the cabinet and her hinges look broken. I had to completely unhook the cable and the treadle belt to get it out.
