Yup, I get mine at Amazon as well. Much better pricing.

Both HL and Joanns have play the game. Raise prices to a ridiculous level so that they can offer excellent sales and/or coupons. I finally realized that was the case when Joanns tried to do away with Warm & Natural a few years ago, to push buyers to their brand of batting. Didn't work, as nobody wanted theirs, now they carry Warm & Natural again. Doesn't matter, once I found out it was available elsewhere without a coupon and would be delivered to my door for less, I've hardly bought anything at Joanns.

I remember years past I'd buy a couple bobbin cases for my Innova at the quilt show. One year the price had gone up quite a bit and I asked why. The dealer said it's the same price they've always been so when I got home, I took a photo of one of the previous ones I'd bought from her and sent the photo to her. She couldn't deny it then.

I love it when these stores say they're having a sale, prices have dropped but I could prove they'd raised the prices just before the sale so in the end they were still getting the same price for the item. Such tricks they play.

I'm not cheap but with the prices clothing have gone up to, I buy from the local thrift store. True, you have to be careful but I tend to look at certain brands, then check for the wear and tear of the items. I can't see paying $100 for a pair of bluejeans with rips in them. Wear them long enough and you'll have those fashionable rips in time. I still remember when I bought my 1st pair of bell bottom bluejeans back in 1970 for $5. Wore them until there was no more hem and yep, had rips in the knees.

I bought these from Amazon and so far I am very happy with them Headley Tools 45mm titanium coated rotary cutter blades Japanese steel. Headley uncoated are less expensive and both have good reviews.

Also when Missouri star has their brand of blades on a good sale I buy them. . They are good blades. I don't have to buy blades for a very long time and when I do look at retail prices I get sticker shock. Just now getting over $12.99 a yard in the LQS.

I will keep a watch on the blade prices at HL to see if the price goes down after the sale. At Amazon the Fiskar blades are expensive.

Inflation is crazy! I'm glad most of my kids are grown and on their own lol. We have chickens though so I'm supplying them eggs whenever we have them. We also have a garden and they're welcome to whatever they need.
As much as I hate it I buy most of my blades and such online because it's cheaper. I do my best to buy fabric at a quilt store though.

I buy where the value is. LQS, box stores, or online. LQS has value in a lot of items and I buy from there, but not every item. I'm lucky to have five nice quilt shops within 25 miles of me, three are within five miles. I check often for sales and new items.

They don’t retain things weekly based on what is on sale. I think they’ve just gotten that expensive.

I priced those at Joanns rbis week and their five packs were $30ish too. One or two packs made the price per blade even higher.
