We have those around here a lot. They are called Garden Spiders & make a really, really strong web. Here's an article with pictures about them for those of you who like spiders. Personally, I do not like spiders even though I know they are good for the garden.

We were fishing at the jetties when I spotted this spider web among the rocks! I immediately recalled this thread and grabbed my phone for the pics.

This one was at our mailbox late last summer and though the fall. I really enjoyed seeing it.

I wave at this spider each time i go into the backyard. So far, the spider stays in place and we both are happy!
